Problems / Bugs / Fixes
- The US version (since 2.1-update1?) won't see WiFi networks on channels 12 & 13 (e.g. in New Zealand). There apparently used to be setting "Regulatory domain" under "Settings>Wireless & Network Settings>Wi-Fi settings>'Menu' button>Advanced" but apparently was removed.
- VLC and Blender don't play the audio of videos (the "amr" audio codec) with the standard install. I found some threads discussing this but apparently it's something to do with licensing or patents or something. Apparently you can recompile VLC to get support.
Usage Tips
- Dial * # * # 4 6 3 6 # * # * to get to diagnostic/tool menu, including network use by application. (via) (4636 is "t9 for INFO")
Hardware Notes
- According to notes I found, the pin-out of the gold pins at the bottom of the phone is that the outer pins are used for charging. The one by the microphone hole is for Ground and the other outer pin is for 5V. I have not tested this. References: Nexus One DIY Docks http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/5462/bottomwiring.jpg
