• The standard capacitor symbol isn't either of the common ones. @@ TODO : Link my edited symbol

• To create or edit components use the libedit button on the top toolbar of eeschema.

• To remove the small "+" and "-" symbols (or similar) from a component like a capacitor edit the component symbol and select the "Edit Part Properties" button. Then deselect "Show Pin Name" and/or "Show Pin Num". (Individual pins have a "No Draw" option—I'm not sure if this does the same thing or not.)

• Some Kicad Symbols - CPOL, DC jack, UCC283 voltage regulators -- CPOL is a more familiar (American?) polarised capacitor, modified by me from something else. The DC jack is from http://uchobby.com/. The voltage regulators are modified by me from the standard 7805 .
